February 2021
Hola Miami! We loved hitting up this culturally diverse gem of a coastal city in Florida for our babymoon. Miami is home to some great food with lots of Cuban influence, a large presence of art deco architecture, 2 national parks (Everglades & Biscayne Bay), and lots of beautiful beaches with equally beautiful people!

Tour of the Everglades: After lots of research, we decided the best way to see the Everglades National Park was by airboat. The NPS website has three companies listed that have permits to actually take you into the national park! We chose Coopertown for no reason other than it was listed first. 100% recommend! We got to see a ton of alligators and the tour guide was very informative.
Fairchild Tropical Botanical Gardens
Phillip and Patricia Frost Museum of Science
Pérez Art Museum Miami
Adrienne Arsht Center for the Performing Arts of Miami-Dade County
Scuba Dive Biscayne Bay
If you have time, take a trip down to the keys to snorkel!
Tips and Tricks
Transportation: We were torn between Uber and a rental car. Despite flying into Ft. Lauderdale & paying for a length uber from the airport to downtown Miami, it was still going to be cheaper for us to use Uber to get around. Be mindful, however, that we lost service while out at the Everglades and had to hitchhike with a couple on our tour back closer to Miami where we could then call our own Uber. We were also able to walk to a lot of restaurants in the Brickell area which was nice.
Accommodations: We stayed in the Brickell area and loved it! Found a cheap, but posh hotel (Novotel Brickell) with a beautiful rooftop pool on hotels.com. It was in Brickell, right on a walking/biking trail, which made for a very easy walk to trendy local restaurants! We love using hotels.com because, for no additional cost, we get a complimentary night every 10 nights we book through them!
*Bachelorette Recommendations*
I did attend a bachelorette party in Miami Beach and have a few recs to pass along!
100% recommend spending the extra money to stay at a boujee resort like the Fontainebleau. Much of our time was spent having drinks in the pool or at the beach! Unfortunately, due to COVID, the onsite nightclub - LIV - was closed, but this would be an added bonus to staying here for a bachelorette trip.
We also rented a boat on the bayside and did a "booze cruise." Our boat driver anchored at a shallow party sand bar where we played lots of music and jumped in for a swim!
And last but not least, we did a night out on Ocean Drive in South Beach. Due to COVID, most of these bars & clubs have started serving food & have become "restaurants." Unfortunately, it can take forever to get in somewhere to get a seat & get drinks (no more bar hopping). I recommend either make reservations ahead of time at popular places like Sugar Factory or getting there right after dinner to get a table for drinks; things may have changed since we were last there in February 2021.
